Its former name was the Bayview Place DC Payments Open presented by Times Colonist – not likely to win any awards for elegance. But the new name for the Mackenzie Tour PGA Tour Canada stop is no better: the Bayview Place Cardtronics Open presented by Times Colonist.

The name change follows the acquisition of DC Payments by Cardtronics and allows for a somewhat more convenient shorthand, the DCPC Open. In a statement, Cardtronics CEO Steve Rathgaber said that retaining co-title sponsorship following the acquisition was a perfect way to greet the Victoria market.

The Victoria tournament, which this year will be staged June 4 to 11, is the longest-running on the Mackenzie Tour PGA Tour Canada.
